Oh, great

Fantastic. You plan a trip for months, and this is what happens? I swear to sweet zombie Jesus that I'll go third world on their asses if they don't get their act together for at least the 2 hours I'll be in La Paz's airport! I totally support what they're doing, but it's often like shooting themselves in the foot. Bolivia seems to essentially be trying to revert to pre-colonial times, a great idea if you go for the "noble savage" idea (I don't) and if the rest of the world didn't surround this little nation with their maws drooling over the incredible natural resources it contains. I think westernization is one of the worst things to have happened to the nation, but I still don't think that they're heading toward the right goals with the paralyzing of transportation.

Anyway, we fly out tomorrow morning at 8.20 and get to Miami at 3ish. The fun part of that is that we then sit in the Miami airport for 9 hours before our midnight flight to La Paz! 9 HOURS! The airport is so crappy that I can't even link to their site because it's down! Great, what else is going to be down? I'll tell you one thing that won't be down: their affirmative action numbers! Zing! I actually have a love/hate relationship with the airport. I love the Latino presence and the myriad of nationalities that stream through it. I hate, however, the half-cirlce layout that means you walk 20 miles from one gate to the next. Annoying! Wait, wait: it gets worse. On our way back, we have to spend the night there! Never, ever, ever use Avant travel! Dumb coos actually had to ask us me over the phone how to find the flights we were talking about...

It's with aching hearts that we leave Maxx behind. His leg is all nastied up but is healing slowly. We've spent as much time with him as we could the last week, and I think we've given my parents and sister enough of a Maxx Crash Course for them all to survive the summer. Here's hoping. I'm going to be posting travel photos during our time, and I'll add one or two of the big guy that I've taken the past 2 days.

Cheers to beers, though not Bolivian!

Wowie.

I have absolutely no excuse for having neglected this negligible blog for so long. Worse yet, I plan on neglecting it for even longer! Next week I leave for a 6 week stint in Bolivia and Peru.

You know what: I don't feel like typing right now. Dirty Vegas' "Days Go By" isn't conducive to typing, but it definitely makes you want to pull out a piece of cardboard and dance dance dance the night away!

Best to all 1 who reads this.

bad person

I know, I'm a bad person for not having blogged for days! You know what? Blow me. That's right: blow me!

Have a hectic week!
